WHAT CAN I EAT?

Since the cure is the diet, then the question "What can I eat?" is a very important question to have answered.

Yes, you can eat! You can eat plain meat, beans, fish, legumes, eggs, nuts, vegetables, potatoes, yucca, buckwheat, quoina, millet, teff, corn, plain rice, fruits, hard cheese, plain yogurt and plain peanut butter. The list goes on. Wow, that is a lot of food! Plain means nothing added. The foods allowed on a gluten free diet are plentiful.

Right now it is recommended you can eat plain food as you adjust to the new gluten free diet. As you learn the diet and how to prepare foods you like in a gluten free manner then you can add back in some of the spice to foods. Processed foods are full of gluten and should be avoided in the beginning of the learning process.

Contact us via mail, e-mail or phone and we can send you our new member packet with current detailed accurate information about Celiac Disease/DH and how to live with it. (see the link for the registration form) Included in the packet will be where to get a good gluten free grocery shopping list along with how to read labels. This can not be put into a web site as it is always changing and we want to keep you healthy. This is why it is important to keep coming to meetings to keep current. Remember you can eat all the plain meat, vegetables and plain rice and/or potatoes to start with.

A stop at your local health food stores would also be recommended. Check out our links to the local health food stores.

Breads From Anna

All products from Anna are:

all natural and have a taste and texture that is smooth and non grainy.  The breads bake up like a traditional loaf of bread and because the bread does not crumble it can be sliced paper thin.  These products are not only unique for these qualities, but also because they are high in protein and fiber making them great for those looking to add more nutrition into their gluten-free diet.  All mixes are easy to prepare.  The breads can also be made into a delicious pizza crust, cinnamon raisin bread, dinner rolls, hamburger/hotdog buns and foccacia bread.  All of these recipes and more can be found on the web site below.
